PRE-WALK INFO: (If supplied) Walk leader's description of start point/general information about route.

From Scarborough, take the first exit from the A64 to Norton/Malton.  Continue into town until you reach a mini-roundabout.  Turn left into Mill Street. Continue to the end of the road and turn right into Beverley Road.  Parking is usually available on the right, just before a sharp bend to the left, or in bays beside the road in Wood Street, beyond the bend.

This is a short walk over easy ground.  The intention is to reach Malton soon after 1pm, to have lunch at the food-lovers' festival, whose stalls fill the Market Place and surrounding streets.  There are simple snack items, such as sausage rolls, but also ethnic hot food stalls (which can draw long queues).  This is a good event if you want to stock up with top-class pies, interesting cheeses and meats, etc, or just for browsing around for a couple of hours.  My number for any queries: 07535 892131.

The walk will end at Malton Bus Station, the closest point to the centre of town.  If you wish to return to the cars, these will be a further five minutes' walk away.
