PRE-WALK INFO: (If supplied) Walk leader's description of start point/general information about route.

The walk from Blue Bank car park on Sunday includes a visit to Grosmont where there is a Steam and Vintage Vehicle Gala and we hope to allow time to look around.

The route is in 3 parts; Blue Bank to Sleights station, 3 miles, Sleights station to Grosmont via Esk Valley Walk, 4.5 miles,Grosmont to Blue Bank via Lowther's Crag, 3 miles. (Total 10.5 miles) There is a lengthy but manageable climb on leaving Grosmont. The entire route is delightful with some amazing views.

It would be possible for anyone wishing to do a shorter walk to join the group at Sleights Station (ample parking) and leave at Grosmont, returning by rail to Sleights 'under their own steam' (or, as it happens, diesel!) If this option interests you please call me for details of timings etc. 01723 871948 or 07801843890 (mobile).

We should return to the car park at Blue Bank at 3.30 to 4.00pm.
