If you park at Reasty Bank , there is that wonderful view looking over Harwood Dale and beyond to the moors, the ideal subject for a landscape painting. What we usually then do is walk south through the trees away from that view so I thought it would be interesting to head into the painting instead....

 

As always, I’d advise full wet weather gear and a stick could be very useful too.  The middle part of the walk along the valley of Jugger Howe is a bit wild and whilst I hope to avoid the worst of the heather (the path is a bit faint in places) , shorts may be not advisable. The walk is down at 12 miles and I’d expect to finish between 4 and 5pm.
