From Scarborough, leave the A64 at the signed exit to Norton. On entering Norton, turn left at the roundabout into Mill Street, and at the end of the road, turn right into Beverley Road. Park on the right after about 200 yards. This is a scenic 8-mile walk. The shorter distance means that we should reach Malton at about 2pm, so that those who wish can attend the final afternoon of Malton's excellent Food-Lovers' Festival. The Market Place and surrounding streets will be packed with hundreds of stalls, offering locally-produced food, including cheeses, meats and pastries, and associated events will be taking place around town.
