December 13, Ravenscar, led by Cathryn Ferris

gpx file       9 walkers       10.3 miles  1531ft ascent

Back marker: Michael Woodhouse

It was lovely to be met at the start by Les and Margie Atkinson, who had walked up from their cottage to exchange Christmas greetings. This reminded me that, in normal years, the walk today would have ended at Fulmar cottage with mince pies, mulled wine, sausage rolls etc. However, Cathryn showed true leadership skills by delving into her rucksack at Boggle Hole and extracting two flasks of mulled wine and a box of warmed mince pies. No brandy butter this year, but I suppose we can't expect everything!

Les warned us that the Cleveland Way was incredibly muddy and slippy. We hadn't gone far when David demonstrated that he had not been exaggerating.
