Six group members travelled to Goathland for our first working party under Ranger Beth's supervision. She proved to very amiable and is going to organise working parties on the 3rd Wednesday in every month. She will post the venue on the "my volunteer" website and has asked all volunteers to record their hours on the site. She is going to send us a dummy's guide on how to do this, which will appear on this website when I've received and understood it. Hopefully Les will continue to send out reminders.

Our task was to cut book growth and clear the many steps on the popular footpath from Goathland to Darnholm ford, which proved satisfying, if quite a physical challenge on a hot day.
