Wednesday 17 September, Working Party at Dowson Garth, Esk Valley, led by Ray Johnson |
|
Six group members met ranger Beth and apprentice Ashley at Esk Valley to walk along the rail trail and climb up to Dowson Garth Farm, where we had previously worked in August. Since then contractors had dug out the collapsed culverts and laid new drainage pipes and filled in the stream that had been created down the path. Our task was to erect a new way-mark post, which was undertaken by Jim and Phil, build a head wall for the bottom culvert, which was undertaken by Michael and Rachel with Beth, and to clear the stream leading to the culvert of any debris, which was undertaken by Bob, Ray and Ashley. More branches overhanging the path were cut down. |
