Meet at the Car park on Knott Road. Drive through Rosedale Abbey for one mile and turn right at Low Bell End onto Knott Road and the car park is 3 miles on the right just before a junction with a single track road which is also on the right. Join on a circular walk taking in Darby High Moor and the beautiful surrounding scenic area. From the meeting point we walk towards Glaisdale, descend to Wood End Farm. Then proceed past Slidney Beck Farm, then ascend Raven Hill, towards the village of Botton, then continue to Danby Head before returning to the car park via the Esk Valley Walk.
Please note the descent down to Wood End Farm is difficult and at
the bottom includes crossing some streams pending weather
conditions, walk leader will advise. The walk is along defined paths and tracks that can be narrow, rocky, stony and precipitous in places, which may become even slippy in wet conditions. The walk includes a short stretch’s of public roads. This walk also takes in exposed moorland, it is essential that you wear / take appropriate clothing and walking boots. In addition we would also advise waterproofs, sun hat / sun protection, walking poles etc. The walk leader will advise on the weather forecast / walking conditions etc at the meeting point. Please remember to bring plenty of fluids, lunch and snacks. It is essential if you have any concerns to please let the walk leader know as soon as possible
